The Scream Queen Reviews Evisceration Plague by Cannibal Corpse!
Evisceration
Plague, which is Cannibal Corpse's 11th studio album scheduled to
release February 3, 2009, has by far exceeded expectations of critics and has
overtaken their previous CD, KILL in several different aspects
All starting with their energy draining, lurid brutality that will have you
feeling every riff, vocal, and beat as if it were the malice and mutilation
delineated in each lyric.
Fans will be amazed at Scalding Hail, which is the shortest track on the album of only 1 minute and 46 seconds; it is nothing but pure atrocity. Other songs with Fischer's murderous vocals include Carnivorous Swarm, Evidence in the Furnace, and To Decompose. Contrasting to the rest of the CD, Evisceration Plague incorporates songs that are more melodic and have slower tempos such as title track Evisceration Plague and A Cauldron of Hate.
From the intensity inaugurated from George Fischer's bloodthirsty death metal growls, to Rob Barrett's and Pat O'Brien's intricate guitar riffs and solos that toil viciously together, to Paul Mazurkiewicz's incredible drum performance that sounds as if it's his best work he has ever recorded, to Alex Webster's bass that intertwines the convoluted chaos in sync, Evisceration Plague proves that Cannibal Corpse reigns as the best American Death Metal band of all time.
My Rating: 4/5
